2014 COTY - logoIf you are like me, and you enjoy watching reality television shows like “Master Chef South Africa” and “Top Chef” then you will be interested to know that Unilever will be live streaming their Chef of the Year competition from their Unilever Food Solutions kitchens in Durban. image006Finalists were selected after mystery-basket cook-offs in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town. Entrants were required to prepare a starter, main course and dessert for the judges, resulting in six competitors in the Junior and Senior categories of the competition. Finalists in three remaining categories, namely Creative Canapés, Confectionary Showcase and Team of 4 – Bring Your Best, were selected by means of written entries.

The names of the contestants competing looks very impressive. I must admit that I did not recognise the individual’s names. Although, after noticing the names of the different restaurants some of the contestants work for, I expect to see the creation of amazing looking dishes on Thursday, 11 September from 08h00 until 15h00, using the following Youtube link: http://www.unileverfoodsolutions.co.za/promotions/COTY_BPS/COTY_Live_Feed

Below is a video of last year’s live broadcast finals.

I am sorry, but as an experienced video editing professional, I have to mention the bad music selection in this video. Please people, you must use the camera location sound in your edit. It is unnatural for a viewer to see people cooking and using cooking utensils without hearing the sound it creates.

Below are the names of the finalists competing on Thursday, 11 September 2014.

First of all I would like to say superb blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if
you don’t mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing.
I have had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out.
I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems
like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted simply just
trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints?
    Thank you!

I only write on topics I find interesting, and write when I feel I want to.
