Singer-songwriter and producer Mali Music released his label debut MALI IS… June of this year & the album will now be available in South Africa from next week.

This English 1980’s electronic pop duo has sold more than 50 million records worldwide and is listed as the most successful duo in UK music history by The Guinness Book of Records. Pet Shop Boys members, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, have released 17 albums – their first album was released in 1986 and the newest one was released in 2013.
Whatever Happened to The Shamen?
The first time I heard this Scottish band was during the 1990’s when the rave scene was big in Cape Town. The Shamen had different members joining and leaving the group before I got to know their music. With their 1992 album release, called “Boss Drum” the group consisted of Colin Angus and Mr C.

Recently, while walking through the new revamped Rosebank Mall, I saw this gentleman rolling wrappers on prepared bunches. His name is Luis Lopez, the chief Cigar Roller from the Dominican La Aurora cigar company.

Last week I attended the second Slots Factor media event, held at 3SIXTY in Montecasino. This was also the venue of last year’s event, which I wrote about. Like 2013’s event, the attending media contingent was once again offered a fun-filled evening with good entertainment and lekker food.

I met Mercia when I hired her to join my SAPA multimedia team as a reporter, when I was the Multimedia Manager for the South African Press Association (SAPA). She was part of the team that delivered the high earning Oscar Pistorius bail hearing footage for SAPA multimedia, but I never knew she was this creative.
Sia – Going against the face of fame.

I am sure by now you must have heard about an amazing chart-topping song called “Chandelier” by the Australian born singer and songwriter Sia. Even more impressive than the song, is the beautiful choreographed dance sequence in Sia’s Chandelier music video by 11 year old Maddie Ziegler. Maddie is part of an American dance reality television series called “Dance Moms” which Sia is a big fan of.
